James H. Faulkner State Community College Dental Assisting Program

James H Faulkner State Community College offers two dental assisting programs.  The first is a certificate program of 50 credit hours, which will prepare students to assist with the care of dental patients under direct supervision of a dentist.  The second is an Associates in Applied Science degree, which incorporates all of the classes in the certificate program, with 4 additional general education courses in biology, computer science, art or music, and sociology.  The Associates Degree is 63 credit hours.

The Certificate Program is a year long program, spanning two semesters and a summer session.  Students will gain clinical experience through this program that will give them a great advantage when starting out in the workforce.  The Associates Degree program will typically take one additional semester to complete the remaining required courses, depending on how you structure your schedule.
