Mississippi has just one type of Dental Assistant
- Dental Assistant
A dental assistant may perform basic supportive tasks specified by the state dental practice act under the direct supervision of a licensed dentist.
All dental assistants involved in direct patient care must be certified in CPR within 180 days of employment.
If a dental assistant will be taking X-rays, a radiology permit must be obtained. Under no circumstances may a dental assistant administer radiographs without the appropriate radiology permit.
