- Dental Auxiliary
Dental Assistants in Montana are called “Dental Auxiliaries.” The State of Montana does not require licensure for Dental Assistants. The Montana Board of Dentistry Administrative Rule 24.138.406 addresses which functions are allowed to be performed by dental auxiliaries. It is the responsibility of the supervising dentist to ensure the dental assistant is qualified.
Dental Assistants / Auxiliaries in Montana are required to pass the Dental Assisting National Board RHS written exam to expose radiographs in Montana. The examination is administered by Dental Assisting National Board (DANB).
