Nevada only has one type of Dental Assistant
- Dental Assistant
A Dental Assistant in the state of Nevada may perform basic supportive tasks (specified by the state Dental Practice Act – link provided below) under the direct supervision of a licensed dentist or dental hygienist.
In order to perform x-rays in Nevada, a dental assistant must receive training either from an outside training course, or from his or her employing dentist, who must sign a sworn affidavit stating that all staff members other than licensed dental hygienists who administer x-rays are either office-trained or formally trained in radiation health and safety.
This affidavit and certification of training shall be submitted with the dentist’s license renewal application.
