Utah has only has one type of Dental Assistant
- Dental Assistant
Dental Assistants in Utah are not licensed, but they must maintain a current CPR card.
In addition, dental assistants may not take x-rays unless they meet one of the following requirements:
Must complete a dental assisting course accredited by the ADA Commission on Dental Accreditation
Pass one of the following examinations:
the DANB Radiation Health and Safety Examination (RHS)
a radiology exam approved by the Board
